Specialist Prosthodontist (Retired from clinical practice)We are thrilled to welcome David to the team at Pitt Street Dental Centre.
David has maintained a private practice as a Dental Board registered Specialist Prosthodontist for over 25 years. During that time, he has also been at the forefront of dental education elevating the standard of dental treatment in Australia and around the world.
As well as his established referral practice, he teaches dental students, dentists, dentists training to become specialists, and even other specialists internationally, He has been a Keynote Speaker at many international conferences and has given more than 500 lectures, workshops and hands-on courses in almost every facet of facial and dental aesthetics; diagnosis and treatment planning; implant dentistry; restorative dentistry; crown and bridgework; removable prosthodontics (dentures), as well as the diagnosis and conservative management of jaw and facial pain in Australia, Asia, Europe and the USA.
David is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. He has authored countless publications and is Clinical Editor for Australasian Dental Practice magazine. He is an invited lecturer and examiner to both undergraduate and graduate students at a number of Universities. He was an Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons for some years and is now on the Board of Prosthodontic Studies for the College. David is a key opinion leader, consultant and a trainer for a number of dental companies.
David shows other dentists how to diagnose and treat all aspects of aesthetic and functional problems, whether it’s a single tooth or an entire mouth, face and jaws. He is the CEREC Trainer for Australia and New Zealand. He is a Trainer for MDI mini-implant denture treatment. He is also an accredited Invisalign practitioner.

What is a Prosthodontist?
Prosthodontics is the specialty of dentistry devoted to comprehensive management of lost teeth and tissues, utilising tooth and implant support where appropriate. This includes fixed and removable prosthodontics, as well as the diagnosis and management of simple and complex problems of tooth surface loss, orofacial pain and temporomandibular disorders.
Whether your require fixed bridgework, crowns, bonded ceramics, veneers, implants, simple restorations or some combination of these; your prosthodontist is the best person to help you decide what is most appropriate for you. You do not need a referral to see a Prosthodontist but patients are most often referred to David by dentists, other dental specialists and medical practitioners in the following dental situations.
Improvement of your dental appearance and smile
Replacement of missing or unrestorable teeth, with or without implants
Correction of your occlusion (bite)
Restoration of smile and function of worn teeth damaged by grinding
Restoration of teeth and surrounding tissues damaged by decay, erosion, trauma or previous treatment
