Invisalign Sydney - Pitt Street Dental Centre

Invisalign Sydney

Invisalign is the discreet way to straighten teeth. Pitt Street Dental Centre here in the heart of Sydney CBD has been awarded Platinum Elite status by Invisalign Australia 7 years straight, and is a recognition of our experience in providing patients with Invisalign treatment. And with payment plans available, getting your dream smile is closer than you think.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign Platinum Elite Pitt Street Dental CentreInvisalign is a system used to align or straighten teeth using a series of clear aligner trays that are custom created just for you. Each tray in the series moves your teeth closer to their ideal position in the ideal order, until all of your teeth are in the best position for your smile. This alternative to traditional braces can help most alignment issues and our skilled dental staff will ensure your treatment goes as desired.

How it Works

When you come to see us for teeth alignment or straightening, we will perform a dental examination and evaluation to properly diagnose your situation. If we uncover any unresolved dental issues, we can treat them, first. Then we will be collecting the data for your Invisalign treatment with the following steps:

1 Black

After your initial checkup, we will take x-rays, 3D scans, high quality photos and videos, and collect any other data we need to create your path to straighter teeth. You will see the potential results at this stage.

2 Black

Your data will be sent to the Invisalign lab and we will bring you back for your personalised ClinCheck®, where you can see the projected movements of your teeth that will lead to your new smile. During this stage we can also determine if and how many attachments may be needed for your Invisalign trays.

3 Black
Once your ClinCheck is approved, your first set of aligners will be created and sent.
4 Black
When we receive your new aligners, we will schedule a visit with you to fit your first aligner tray, provide your customised instructions and answer any questions you may have.
5 Black

You will wear each tray at least 22 hours every day, removing your trays only for eating and cleaning the tray and your teeth.

6 Black
Each tray should be worn approximately one week, but you will be given specific instructions for your situation.

The Benefits of Invisalign at Pitt Street Dental Centre Sydney

The Invisalign clear aligner system is designed for patients who want straighter teeth without the hassle of metal braces. Adults and teenagers prefer this teeth straightening system because the aligners are clear and barely noticeable, so posting to social media, going to class or meeting with clients is not an issue. And they can be removed if needed, making them more convenient than traditional braces. The following is a summary of the benefits of Invisalign:

Discreet treatment that goes unnoticed
No need for visits to adjust wires or brackets
Comfortable, no abrasions or metal to rub on cheeks or gums
Gentle movement of teeth means less pressure and pain
Because the trays are removable, there are no restrictions in your diet, just remove them when you eat and replace them after cleaning both the tray and your teeth
Treatment may take from 6 to 24 months and depends on the patient’s extent of malocclusion (crooked teeth). Once complete, you will need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth in place. Your dentist will discuss your personal retention plan.
Our professionally trained and skilled dental staff will also monitor your progress throughout your treatment to ensure your teeth are moving as predicted. If any changes take place, we can quickly make the necessary adjustments so your treatment will continue as planned. Our goal is that you have a smooth treatment with your desired outcome and we do all we can to ensure this happens.

Invisalign Technology

Invisalign is the latest and most advanced in clear aligner dental alignment technology and is the modern alternative to traditional metal braces. With diagnostic tools like 3D scanning, digital x-rays and 3D treatment planning software, we can customise your personal Invisalign experience with predictable results.

Your customised trays will be created using SmartTrack® material that applies a gentle and constant force for highly controlled teeth movement. The flexible plastic material is specifically engineered for orthodontic treatment and is 100% BPA free.

SmartForce® attachments are made of composite resin and may be used to further enhance your treatment. They address more specific issues of the size, shape or angle of a specific tooth or teeth and can ensure the right force is applied in the appropriate location and direction.

SmartForce attachments are tiny, often fitting just inside the aligner tray and serving as a type of anchor. Each piece varies in shape and size and is highly individualised to each patient. Not every patient requires attachments and if you do, they will be very specific to your situation.

Am I a Candidate for Invisalign?

Am I A Candidate For Invisalign-Invisalign Sydney-Pitt Street Dental Centre
While at one time Invisalign was a teeth alignment system for patients with mild to moderately crooked teeth, advancements in technology allow us to treat a wider range of malocclusions, including complex tooth movements. The following concerns can be addressed with Invisalign:
Invisalign Sydney-Pitt Street Dental Centre

Crooked teeth, including complex situations

Overbites, underbites and crossbites
Some patients with narrow arches
Gaps between teeth

We treat adults, teenagers and some children with Invisalign. Keep in mind the trays must be worn at least 22 hours each day for the best outcome, and so may not be an option for some children.

In some rare cases, one or two teeth may require removal to create enough space to straighten teeth. We evaluate each patient on a case-by-case basis to provide individualised treatments and can help you, too.
