What Happens at a Dental Checkup & Clean at Pitt Street Dental?
Hi, I’m Dr Kim Nguyen, one of the dentists at Pitt St Dental Centre here in Sydney CBD.
Earlier this morning, we got a phone call from a new patient Jenny from the Inner West. She would like to come in for a dental check-up and clean as she hasn’t been for a very long time. This is because she had a very bad dental experience when she was a child. So she is a bit anxious. She asked us, what usually happens at a checkup and clean?
For anxious patients who haven’t been to a dentist for a long time, this is a very common question, so I thought I’d make a quick video about it.
For our routine dental appointments, it starts with a thorough examination. We don’t just look at your teeth, we actually look at the whole face as well.
We’ll look at your facial profile and examine the jaw joint and the muscles in the head and neck region. After this, we’ll then have a look inside your mouth. So when we look inside, we aren’t just looking at your teeth. We look at the soft tissues, tongue, palate and the gums. We’ll possibly take some photos and x-rays as well. These x-rays will help us determine what is happening underneath that we can’t see.
It’s our job to make sure you are comfortable throughout the whole process and get the highest quality of care. We take our time, and all our clinicians have a high attention to detail. Nothing is better than seeing you leave with a smile on your face.
We’d love to look after you and get to know you!
Simply call us on 02 9223 4767, complete the form on our website, or send us a DM on social media, and we’ll help you organise an appointment. We hope to see you soon!
