What Is the Cost of Dental Veneers?
Hi, I’m Dr Michael Cai, the principal dentist of Pitt St Dental Centre here in Sydney CBD.
Nowadays, more and more people are interested in improving their smile with dental veneers. Often we get calls from patients asking for the price of dental veneers. Because it is not a straight forward answer, I thought I’ll make a quick video sharing with you the cost of Dental Veneers, and the factors that can impact the final price.
The cost of porcelain veneers ranges from two to three thousands per veneer.
First of all, the price range reflects on the material that is used for the veneer. Generally speaking, at Pitt St Dental Center, we use two types of material. One is called eMax veneer. It is very good-looking. It’s very natural and strong, but it is not the best-looking veneer for the highest aesthetic demand.
The other type of material is called Feldspathic veneer, which is a glass veneer. It is essentially the ceramist layering porcelain powder with different colors to build the veneers by hand, which takes a lot more expertise. However, it gives the best aesthetic results. We use this sometimes to match, say, a single front tooth, which is often the most challenging thing in dentistry.
Now, the number of veneers that we do also reflects on the price. So generally the more veneers we’re doing in one go, the lower the cost on average.
The fees charged by the ceramist also determines the costs the veneers. At Pitt St Dental Centre, we only work with the selected few world famous dental ceramists. Although they charge more than the average dental ceramists, their artistry and dedication to the work is definitely worth it as they are so beautiful as well as long lasting.
Finally, the technical difficulty of the case will also affect the final price. For example, if it is a complex aesthetic case that has high smile line, dark stump shade, or a complex bite, it will required a lot more time in the treatment planning as well as the procedure itself to make sure that it looks stunning and natural, and hence that would then impact the cost of the veneer treatment.
I hope this video has given you some insights into the different factors that impact the price of a dental veneer smile makeover.
